A set of Twenty mid-19th century decorative and graduated comports made by Manchester glass company, Molineux & Webb. The ruby-edged frosted glass centrepieces feature a Greek key design and raised faceted baluster and cut star feet. The turquoise-edged frosted glass centrepieces have raised faceted baluster and cut star feet.
The Greek key design was pattern 7034 and recorded in the company's pattern book 2.
Molineux & Webb was the oldest of the major Manchester glassworks famous for its 19th century pressed glass, particularly the Greek key design. The pattern was used for a wide range of tableware and was first registered in 1864.
The price is for the set but they are available individually - the comports are £245 each for the coloured rims and £225 each for the plain glass.
