A set of six copperplate engravings of birds dated 1789 by James Heath ARA (1757-1834) after drawings by James Bruce of Kinnaird (1730-1794) from his book Cartes et Figures du Voyage en Nubie et en Abyssinie. Atlas volume from Voyage aux Sources du Nil, en Nubie et en Abyssinie, pendant les annees 1768-1772.  They are mounted and presented in handpainted decorative frames (Little Greene: Trumpet and Leather) and non-reflective glass:

 James Bruce of Kinnarid was a British traveller, travel writer and Scottish wine merchant (1730- 1794) who spent more than a dozen years in North Africa and Ethiopia and in 1770 became the first European to trace the origins of the Blue Nile from Egypt and Sudan.

James Heath was a British engraver who enjoyed the patronage of George III and successive monarchs.
