A set of eighteen polychrome prints after ceramic plates by Pablo Picasso from a rare limited edition Art Folio "Céramiques De Picasso" authored by Suzanne and Georges Ramié and published by Albert Skira in1959. Each print is in the shape of the ceramic plate and has a glossy finish that echoes the coloured ceramic glazes. We have suspended the artworks between two pieces of non-reflective glass to create the illusion of Picasso's ceramic plates on display in the Picasso Museum in Antibes (see image). They are framed in slim black walnut frames. The price is for the set.
On a visit to Vallauris in the summer of 1946, Picasso met Georges and Suzanne Ramié, the owners of the Madoura pottery studio. This was the start of a friendship and creative partnership with the Ramie's that would last for the remainder of Picasso’s life. The Ramiés introduced him to various techniques, and together with the artist's distinctive style, they were able to produce editions of the ceramic objects Picasso created.
